Hau Cold Atom Lab Harvard University

Designed to support Dr. Lene Hau’s continuing research, an eighty year old Physics lab at Harvard University was renovated to include the necessary equipment for optics. The building is reinforced concrete with heavy load capacity and vibration resistance. Close temperature, humidity and EMI control were incorporated into the new mechanical and electrical systems. A bright, non-typical, interior laboratory design was created in concert with Dr. Hau, while complimenting the existing campus historical context.
