Design for the ‘New Structure for the Composites and Systems Programs’ for IYRS in Newport is Underway
The New Structure for Composites and Systems Programs is an exciting opportunity to design a new home for the technology-based, experiential learning environments that IYRS School of Technology & Trades will consolidate to the Newport waterfront campus. Much of the program in this new space will be technology-based related to the use of modern materials such as carbon fiber, composites and digitally-based mechanical and electrical systems. At approximately 20,000 SF the architecture will be expressive of the innovative and interactive character of the IYRS programs, and will establish a campus dialogue with the existing Restoration Hall and Mill Building.
IYRS is a world-class experiential school in Rhode Island with a hands-on education model dedicated to teaching highly technical and deeply craft-oriented career skills.
